David Bradley

Known from:
Harry Potter: Argus Filch (grumpy caretaker of Hogwarts with a faible for cats)
Game of Thrones: Walder Frey (Lord of Riverrun and the Crossing, blessed with many children. Don’t ever accept his wedding invitations)
Doctor Who: First Doctor (in specials and documentaries)
The Strain: Professor Abraham Setrakian (Van Helsing impersonator)

Actor David Bradley covers pretty much every area we love! Most people probably know him from three formative roles:

First, as Argus Filch in the Harry Potter movies. The grumpy janitor and his cat Mr Norris scared Harry, Ron and basically every pupil in their early years at Hogwarts. Bradley was no less frightening as Walder Frey in Game of Thrones. The Red Wedding he celebrated is still one of the biggest plot twists in the hit series. Third, Bradley played vampire hunter Professor Abraham Setrakian in all four seasons of The Strain.

Bradley's acting career started on stage, as with so many stars. He trained as an actor at the renowned Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and then played at the Royal National Theatre. Meanwhile he has built up an incredible portfolio in film and television, with more than 100 credits as an actor. And he still doesn't have enough!

Did you know that…

... David Bradley has won a prestigious Laurence Olivier Award for his role in a production of Shakespeare's King Lear?

... he is a big fan of the football clubs Aston Villa and York City? Bradley even played in a video tribute to the 140th birthday of Aston Villa in 2014.
